What should I bring with me to my SpineCare of NY appointment?
All patients should make sure to bring their insurance cards, photo ID and any information regarding their condition, such as medications they are currently taking. New patients are asked to bring recent images and/or scans with them to their first appointment.
Where should I park when I come for my SpineCare of NY appointment?
Upon arrival at SpineCare of NY, (located at 523 East 72nd Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10021) patients can park in the Belaire Building Garage, located at 525 East 71st Street, New York, NY 10021. If you have any questions regarding parking, please call (212) 606-1000, extension 3097. The daily parking rates are listed below:
• Up to 1/2 hour - $18
• Up to 1 hour - $22
• Up to 2 hours - $28
• Up to 4 hours - $32
• Up to 8 hours - $34
• Up to 24 hours- $38

Please note, oversized vehicles (large SUV’s) are subject to an additional $11 fee.

Spinal Surgery and Other Treatments

What spinal surgeries do you perform at SpineCare of NY?
Some of the common procedures we perform at SpineCare of NY are explained below:
Laminectomy is the removal of partial or all the intervertebral disc
Microdiscectomy is when a small portion of the bone over the nerve is removed in order to allow the nerve to heal
Scoliosis surgery is surgery that stabilizes and reduces any abnormal curve of the spine and helps stop any harmful progression
Spinal fusion is a process that fuses together the small, problematic bones in the back so that they become one bone (Cervical spine only)
Total disc replacement is when a mechanical device takes the place of an old, worn disc, allowing for fluid movement of the spine again
What if my doctor doesn't recommend spine surgery?
Our doctors will implement an alternative treatment approach and recommend the best possible course of action by working closely with a number of other trusted non-surgical physicians.

Support Services

Where can I go for more information about my diagnosis?
If you have questions about your diagnosis and/or treatment plan, your physician assistant is available to help you every step of the way. A physician assistant will be assigned to your team from the time your evaluation process begins and will help you navigate your treatment plan. You can also attend a pre-op education class, which is taught by registered nurses in collaboration with physical therapists and social work case managers to provide an overview of what to expect when having surgery. The class is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 9:00 a.m. Please let your surgical coordinator know if you would like to sign up.

Can I request someone to help me navigate my treatment plan and answer questions?
Each doctor has their own surgical coordinator and physician assistant, and they are part of your team from the time the evaluation process begins. The role of the surgical coordinator and physician assistant is to help you navigate your treatment plan, from scheduling your surgery all the way to your last follow-up appointment.
