I started experiencing numbness and tingling in both of my legs into my feet, which got worse and became debilitating, inhibiting my daily functions. Prior to getting surgery, I tried injection shots and therapy to assist with the pain, which had no results and ultimately made my condition worse.

When I realized surgery was the only remaining option, I visited a few doctors who told me it would be an extensive procedure involving rods and screws that would leave me incapacitated for at least three months. My first appointment with Dr. Hughes was a breath of fresh air, as he recommended a different procedure than the other doctors and I would be out of the hospital within one day of my surgery.

Dr. Hughes and the entire HSS and SpineCare team were excellent. The day of surgery went exactly as I was told it would and was very regimented, and the team made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. I cannot thank Dr. Hughes enough for completely fixing the pain and numbness I was feeling in my legs. It has only been two months since my surgery, and I am back to a normal lifestyle and able to do my daily activities with no apprehension. I continue to tell anyone in the same position as me to schedule an appointment with Dr. Hughes.
