I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis five years ago, which caused me extreme pain and made it difficult for me to stand and walk for a long period of time. I tried many things to alleviate the pain, including epidurals and physical therapy, and although they helped at times, nothing lasted long term.

The entire process with Dr. Sama, from testing and imaging, to scheduling the surgery, pre-op testing and conducting the actual surgery, was extremely well managed and timely. I couldn’t be happier with the experience I had with Dr. Sama and his entire staff. They made me feel comfortable and were always accessible to answer all of my questions, even after the surgery.

Now just eight weeks post-op and in my second week of physical therapy, I am able to walk farther and stand longer than I was before without any pain or discomfort, and I am focusing on gaining strength in my lower back and legs.

Spinal surgery can be extremely intimidating, but Dr. Sama and his team at SpineCare of NY and HSS made the entire process as comfortable as it could be and gave me the confidence to make the decision to have surgery. I can’t thank everyone enough for where I am today, and where I hope to be after 12 weeks of physical therapy. I would tell anyone in a similar situation not to wait so long for the surgery and to go to SpineCare of NY as soon as possible.
